I'm Happy Where I'm At

I got one of those little surveys in my email this afternoon. One of the questions was Where are two places you would rather be right now? I couldn't think of two places I'd rather be so my answer was I'm happy where I'm at.

As I'm typing this I glanced out the window to check on the kids. It's a perfect Fall-like night, cool and brisk...the sun is setting. The girls are looking for "special" rocks and chattering along. I can hear them giggling every few minutes. Across the street the neighbor boy is playing catch in the yard with his Dad.

It's the typical picket fence cliche but it's what I dreamed of when I was a kid. And after everything, especially lately, it's nice to realize that I don't want to be anywhere other than right where I am.
